At the Children’s Dream Fund, we believe every child facing a life-threatening illness deserves the chance to dream—and to see that dream come true. Since 1981, we’ve created joyful, personalized experiences for children across West Central Florida, from dream vacations and celebrity meet-and-greets to meaningful gifts. Each dream offers a break from treatment, a boost of hope, and lasting memories for families.

Why We’re Different
Unlike national wish-granting organizations, the Children’s Dream Fund is proudly local—focused solely on serving children in West Central Florida. Since 1981, we’ve been deeply rooted in the community, building strong relationships with local hospitals, families, and supporters who trust us to care for their children. Every dollar raised stays right here, helping the kids and families in our own neighborhoods. That local focus allows us to respond quickly, connect personally, and ensure each dream feels special—not just for the child, but for everyone who helped make it happen. It’s not just about fulfilling a wish—it’s about showing families that their community is standing with them.

We don’t telemarket or operate under a national umbrella—our work is powered by real people, businesses, and medical teams in our own backyard. It’s a mission built on heart, hope, and home.

Children and young adults between the ages of 3 and 21 who live in West Central Florida and have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness are eligible to receive a dream.
Referrals can come from medical professionals (such as doctors, nurses, Child Life specialists, and social workers), as well as from parents, guardians, friends, or even past dream recipients. We work closely with healthcare providers to ensure eligibility and timing are appropriate.
Every dream is as unique as the child. Some wish to visit Disney World, meet a celebrity, receive a gaming system, enjoy a beach vacation, or have a backyard playset. We tailor each experience to the child’s interests, needs, and medical circumstances.
We’re proudly local and independent—not affiliated with any national organization. Every dollar raised stays in West Central Florida, and we never telemarket to raise funds. That allows us to be more personal, responsive, and community-focused.
